This list is up-to-date for online registrants by July 7th and mail-In registrants received by June 30. If you mailed in your registration in late June, we have probably received it. Please don't call or e-mail for confirmation, as we are extremely busy this week. You may want to bring proof of registration with you when you come to pick up your registration packet in Terre Haute. We will take care of any problems on site.
RAIN is an annual ride across the State of Indiana sponsored by the
Bloomington Bicycle Club. Its 160-mile length runs mostly on the Historic National Route 40, an older divided
four-lane road with light traffic. It has gentle rolling hills. You
should be able to average at least 12 to 14 mph for over 11 hours.
Riders MUST wear helmets and must obey all Indiana
traffic laws. This includes stopping at all stop signs and red
lights. You must finish your ride by 9:00 pm (dark) to be an official
finisher of RAIN. This is a maximum of a 14-hour ride. Rider numbers
will be provided.
If you plan to participate in RAIN, you will need to arrange your
own SAG vehicle support or contract for transport with Mark
Robinson. (See Transportation below.)
For details on rest stops, please read the Personal SAG Vehicle Information Sheet
carefully.
Read these articles from the Ultra Marathon Cycling Association for guidelines on how to prepare for RAIN.
