RAIN 2007 entry forms

There are three ways to register for RAIN 2007; choose one of the following:

  1. Print the PDF entry form (You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader), then mail it in with a $40 per-rider registration fee up to and including June 14. The per-rider registration fee is $50 after this date.
  2. Fill out a registration form and print it using your browser, and then mail it in with a $40 per-rider registration fee up to and including June 14. The per-rider registration fee is $50 after this date.
  3. Register through Active.com using your credit card through Wednesday, July 11, 9:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
    You will recieve a $5 per-rider discount for registering using Active.com
    ($35 per-rider registration fee).

Ride description

RAIN is an annual ride across the State of Indiana sponsored by the Bloomington Bicycle Club. Its 160-mile length runs mostly on the Historic National Route 40, an older divided four-lane road with light traffic. It has gentle rolling hills. You should be able to average at least 12 to 14 mph for over 11 hours.
2006 start line
Riders MUST wear helmets and must obey all Indiana traffic laws. This includes stopping at all stop signs and red lights. You must finish your ride by 9:00 pm (dark) to be an official finisher of RAIN. This is a maximum of a 14-hour ride. Rider numbers will be provided.

Rider & Personal Support Vehicle (PSV) Information

If you plan to participate in RAIN, you will need to arrange your own vehicle support or contract for transport with Mark Robinson. (See Transportation below.)
For details on rest stops, please read the Personal Support Vehicle Information Sheet carefully for important information on safety, parking, the RAIN start on Illiana Road, rest stops, lunch and the RAIN finish at Earlham College.

Accommodations



Registration details

2006 start line

Fees for RAIN 2007 are $35 per rider for online registration (Active.com) or $40 per rider for mail-in registration up to and including June 14, 2007. A late fee of $10 will be added for entries dated June 15, 2007 and later.

You may pick up rider packets on Friday between 3:00 and 10:00 pm EDT at the Drury Inn, or on Saturday morning early at the Drury Inn only. Fees are 80% refundable until June 14, 2007; thereafter, fees are non-refundable.

Please register early (at least 2-weeks) so we can have the right amount of food at the rest stops. There will be no day of event registration.

Your entry fee includes:

Showers will be available in Richmond at Earlham College's new athletic facility.

Transportation

Mark Robinson of Robinson Hand-Bilt Wheels is offering return transportation from Richmond back to Terre Haute with two buses for 2007. For more information, see http://www.busdog.com/index_files/pagetwoofbusdog.htm and click on the RAIN button.
